Incorporated in February 2000, Global Fresh was established primarily to market kiwifruit, avocados and apples for its parent company, a significant grower and post-harvest operator. Together with fruit supplied from our other grower/packers in the main growing regions our volumes have grown to represent a significant portion of the industry.

Global Fresh has a strong and healthy business partnership with one of Australia's leading supermarket chains, Coles Supermarkets, developed over the past decade.

Global Fresh has become a “Top 20” supplier to this major chain, primarily with avocados as a direct vendor, plus kiwifruit and blueberries on a seasonal basis.

Our customer base outside Australia is increasing as we see the potential for exporting our crop volumes to other parts of the world. We have established relationships with key customers in North America, United Kingdom, Continental Europe, Japan, North & South East Asia and the Sub Continent.

We are continually looking to expand this base as our volumes of kiwifruit, avocados, apples and berry fruit grow.

In North America, our focus has been on developing a NutriClean® programme for apples, avocados and kiwifruit.

NutriClean® is a certified pesticide residue free programme for fresh produce sold in the USA. Global Fresh has observed the development of NutriClean® within a number of top end retail chains on the West Coast of the United States.

In 2001 Global Fresh developed an apple marketing programme with a leading supermarket group, Raley's Supermarkets, using product that was certified NutriClean®.

Following the successful development of this programme, Global Fresh increased the product profile to Raley's by including avocados and kiwifruit in the NutriClean® mix. Global Fresh is able to use its own Global Green® brand for markets outside the USA utilising fruit supplied under the same pesticide residue free growing regime.

In earlier years, Global Fresh was at the forefront in developing the organic avocado market in the United States. We built up business on the West Coast of the USA including supply program into specialty retailers such as WholeFoods®, the largest organic produce retailer in the world.

In 2000, Global Fresh initiated shipments of New Zealand avocados to the United Kingdom. The arrivals were received with enthusiasm and since these first shipments Global Fresh has been able to grow the volumes to the stage where a recognised market slot for New Zealand Avocados currently exists. We have been able to extend our volumes to Europe in recent seasons with successful fruit outturns, utilising the latest shipping technology to underpin product integrity.

More recently, recognising the importance of the avocado category in our business, in 2010 we established a new company named Just Avocados Ltd to provide a specialised service company dedicated only to avocados, comprising orchard management, harvesting, packing and marketing functions.
